"Two small moons have been discovered orbiting Pluto,
bringing the planet's retinue of known satellites to
three and leaving scientists to wonder how it could be."
And now Pluto too,
that peasant pretender, has
thrice the wives you do.
Can envy be as
rapacious as gravities,
a force straining space
to snag cratered Shes
with celestial wedding lace?
Perhaps you'll bid us
build more nightside brides,
pearl-smooth; your siblings jealous
as they pull your tides.
Never too much spoils
to claim your own; each new moon,
a mere stepping stone.
