A Good Day's Quest

Jaime Lee Moyer

What would it take to protect a land from the evils and hurts of the world?

Poetry
Fantasy

Long ago there was a land
Where people never knew
The sinking of a heart,
Or the vile weapon words can be,
And true love was the order
Of all their Sundays, Mondays
And the days in between,
A fantasy made reality
Where every maid was a Princess
Who knew her Prince would come.

By force of will and laughter
They kept the world at bay,
Fending off evil knights-
Bent on adding to the tally
Of lands forced to their knees-
With fluff and grins and giggles,
Cauterizing hurts taken with a smile,
Keeping the world safe for silly songs
All part of a good day's quest to keep
Children free from the torment of tears.
