Sword Review: Apr. 09 Update

"Eat, Drink and Be Merry" by Alex Popkin (A Student Contributor)

New technology is becoming more and more a part of our daily lives. As time goes on, we expect machines to make our daily tasks easier. But is there such a thing as too much convenience?

Well-written, quirky and humorous. I loved reading this one. Couldn't keep myself from laughing too. The machines reminded me of my aunt back home..."remember, your diet..." Okay, I'm still laughing Laughing

I really like this one. Very funny. And very well done.

Those meddlesome microwaves!

I'm glad that people enjoyed the story. You may be interested to note that what inspired me to right this was a couple articles about real technology that is already in development. The first one, called "The Internet of Things", was in Scientific American last year; I don't remember which issue. The gist was that soon every home appliance will be connected to the internet, and controlled remotely. The second one was something I read because it was linke to Tech Central Station. It said that some companies believe there would be a market for kitchen appliances that help people diet by restricting the available food. So who knows? This may be science fact in a few years.
